Cardknox Development Announces Its EMV Solution For Browser-Based POS Systems
Cardknox Development Inc., a leading gateway and payments provider, is proud to announce a solution enabling developers to customize the user experience on payment terminals with an EMV out-of-scope solution.
Before EMV, developers had free reign over customization options on payment terminals. Since the liability shift last October, many developers looked for ways to efficiently accept EMV. Most wisely opted for semi-integration, a time and cost effective solution. However, since semi-integrated is out-of-scope, it effectively locked developers out from making changes to the terminal experience. For many merchants, EMV integration came at the cost of lost marketing opportunities and a downgraded user experience at checkout.
Yanky Weiss, CTO of Cardknox explains a unique solution. “Developers were truly in a bind at this point. The customizations and opportunities that had always been available to them no longer were. Our solution, called “‘pass through’, gives developers the ability to pass through commands to customize the terminal experience, all while remaining completely out-of-scope from sensitive credit card data. This is a huge industry breakthrough that empowers POS systems to enhance the payment experience, while utilizing EMV payments.”
Utilizing the “pass through” method opens the door for developers to a host of opportunities for marketing, automation and a simplified user experience. Pharmacy POS systems can program questions into the terminal for when a prescription is picked up, rental car software can display additional signature screens on the terminal for waivers, retail stores can offer gift cards or rewards program coupons before a purchase is finalized, and grocery POS systems can have items appear on the terminal screen as they are scanned.
Shlomo Sasson, VP of Technology at Cardknox commented, “The ‘pass through’ solution is the first of its kind in the industry. Cardknox identifies the needs of developers and works to create solutions that address them. We work to consistently deliver unique takes and flexible options to the payment industry.”
Mark Paley, Director of Sales at Cardknox, mentioned a new addition to the Cardknox array of solutions, “Cardknox is also thrilled to announce a new partnership with Bluefin, allowing developers on the Cardknox gateway to utilize PCI-validated P2PE. It is the highest level of payment security on the market, encrypting data from the point of interaction until it reaches a secure decryption environment. Cardknox is proud to bring cutting-edge solutions to the industry to make transactions simpler, faster and completely secure.”
